Come in.

IMAGINE ARRIVING A FEW MINUTES EARLY to find the door open and a cup of tea already waiting for you. “I’ll be there in just a minute,” someone calls out from the back. “Make yourself at home.” Visiting Rusticator is like that. It’s like stepping inside the house of an old friend. It’s not so much a boutique shopping experience as it is a very personal shopping experience.

The shop itself is metaphorically — and actually — a home. Owners Laura and Vassar Pierce keep a small apartment in the back and Vassar’s parents spend part of the summer months in a second apartment above the store. The shop is the beating heart of this multi-family home. So when they (or a member of their staff) step out to greet you, they are meeting you as their guest. It’s a way of shopping (and living) that we hope never goes out of style.
